Pet Fundraisers and Events
The Animal control in Torrington is in need of blankets, bed sheets, towels and closed dog or cat food for the animals because of the approaching cold weather. Please donate what you can to this good cause.
If you can spare the cash or you are good at fundraising... a Kuranda bed given to Animal Control would be a wonderful gift to help better provide comfort for their rescued dogs. The bed is completely chew-proof, provides even support and soft (off the floor) comfort. Beds are discounted on the Kuranda website and approved by the shelter.

Is a Dog Park Possible?
The City is in the process of potentially acquiring a piece of property on Franklin Street. The property would be used for parking as well as space for potential uses such as a park, dog park, or community garden. Planning & Zoning Commission is currently looking into the possibility and will give their recommendation to City Council. If you have an interest for what the properties usage will be -- Now is the time to make your options heard!
