Sue Berg is professor of graphic design, photography, and digital media at Northwestern Connecticut Community College, Winsted CT.  She was Education Director for Artwell Gallery in Torrington for seven years. She holds an MFA from Maine College of Art and a MED from the University of Hartford. She has practiced new media, web design and print work creation through the entity of BarronvonBerg and recently began making wooden fine art structures. She has shown all over Connecticut, Boston and Maine. Recently, she was added to the list of artist that will show at Five Points Gallery, Torrington CT.

In 2013 two important events occurred to put Sue on this current body of work. One, she finished the shed in her backyard with recycled wood pieces from the years of construction on her 100 year old home. Two, she went to visit Walden Pond, historic home of the writer, transcendentalist, and philosopher Henry David Thoreau. With the goal to "Simplify, Simplify" she creates in 2014 with these fresh ideas. Her work embraces her rural, domestic surroundings as well as her deeply held beliefs about recycling, reusing and conserving building materials and techniques from the past.
